Jeanette reviews 'Before the storm' by Alex Gray
Towards the end of last year is when I read a book by one of my favourite authors, Alex Gray.
‘Before the Storm’ is the seventh book in the DS Bill Lorrimer series. It is set in Glasgow and introduces a new character, Inspector Daniel Kohi of the Zimbabwean police, who was forced to flee from his country. Their paths cross, and so the story begins of counter-terrorism threats and local murders!
An English/Scottish crime novel to me, is reuniting with familiar characters and is best accompanied by a cup of coffee (or tea, if you must) when reading.
I went on to read the latest Peter James ‘Picture you Dead’ set in Brighton, England, but have started this year reading Nordic crime novels. I find I have to concentrate more with regards to surnames and place names, however I am enjoying the change. One of these books could be my next review – watch this space!!
