Winter Reading Challenge

Winter Reading Challenge (1 July–31 August) with illustrated mountains, scarf, and winter hats.

2026 Winter Reading Challenge

Have fun this winter colouring your way down the mountain with the Winter Reading Challenge.

Dates: 1 July to 31 August

HOW IT WORKS

  1. Pick up your Winter Reading Challenge Booklet from any Waimakariri Library from 1 July 2026.
  1. Complete as many challenges as you can; complete 1 challenge to go into the prize draw.

  2. Colour in the number of the challenge once you've completed it

  3. Return your booklet to a staff member by 31 August 2026 to go into the draw

  4. If you're picking up a booklet for your child, remember to pick one up for yourself, too! Participating in this challenge is great role-modelling for your child and will encourage them to complete it.

We will have displays with plenty of reading suggestions for the challenges across our three libraries. 😊

Share what you are reading and creating with us on Facebook and Instagram @waimakaririlibraries, or email it to library@wmk.govt.nz

Library staff are happy to help with suggestions. You can find Winter Reading Challenge Book Lists here. Enjoy your winter reading!
