Te Kāhui ako Kātote, are celebrating the creativity of maths through art.
This vibrant exhibition showcases creative works from schools across our Kāhui ako Kātote (community), where students have transformed mathematical concepts into stunning visual expressions. From geometry to symmetry, explore how numbers, patterns, and imagination come together to reveal the artistic side of maths.
Te Kāhui ako Kātote maths art exhibition is a collaboration of artwork collected from nine schools in the kāhui kura, featuring: Te Kura o Tuahiwi, Kaiapoi North, Kaiapoi Borough, Woodend, St.Patricks, Clarkville, Ōuruhia, Te Kura o Manga Kawari -Pegasus Bay, Amberley School, and Kaiapoi High School.
As a kāhui their Pāngarau (Maths) aim is: To collaborate, research, and develop practice to improve the teaching and learning of Mathematics in classrooms across Te Kāhui ako Kātote.
The group wants to raise the profile of the maths subject and show that it can be a creative subject.
Join us in celebrating the work by students at the Te Kāhui ako Kātote Maths Art Exhibition launch, at the Kaiapoi Library, on Thursday 6 August from 5:30pm.
The exhibition will run for a month in the children’s area of the Kaiapoi Library and be available for friends and whānau to enjoy until Thursday 3 September.
