Sarah:

This is the story of a woman who is classed as an illegal immigrant in the United States, and the effect her arrest has on her family. There is no complicated plot or flashy gimmicks, it’s more a slice of life drama about the effects of immigration policy on one family. The acting is excellent, and the story absorbing.

4 stars.

Ciaran:

The thing I like about little indie dramas like this is how intimate the storytelling feels. This is a deeply personal story about how a small family copes with one of their number being deported. Collisions is chiefly told through the eyes of the two young child leads, it’s a real show of ability that these young kids deliver a performance this powerful – especially Izabella Alvarez. I watched with even mixes of melancholy and joy as the camera rolled us ever southward through America towards a more hopeful ending.
