Jordan Peele’s Nope is the story of how two siblings attempt to capture the ‘money shot’ of a UFO terrorising their ranch.
This is Jordan Peele’s third horror outing and it is another visual stunner. I love what this film has to say around the subject of how we watch media these days, the idea of chasing spectacle or the most viewed or liked video is all on display here. The idea of media as a get rich quick scheme is something that consumes us, and if our protagonists aren’t careful, it may well consume them too!

Although there are moments of laugh out loud humour and close your eyes horror in this movie, the story became a little ridiculous towards the end, and the characters never really resonated with me. If you’re a fan of supernatural suspense though, you might enjoy this movie.
