The Other Half of Augusta Hope by Joanna Glen

I really enjoyed reading this book. I think it’s beautifully written.

The story is told by Augusta Hope who lives with her family and twin sister in England, and the other main character is Parfait who lives in Burundi and later ends up in Spain.

The two main characters are so far apart but share so many things. Life goes on for both with joy and a lot of losses until they meet each other.

The Chestnut Man by Soren Sveistrup

A Scandinavian Crime Novel

This is his second book after “The Killing”.

Detectives Naia Thulin and her partner Mark Hess try to solve a crime series, where the little chestnut men, left behind at crime scenes, play an important role. It takes them a long time to find the right lead and find out who committed all the crimes. A crime novel with lots of twists and turns, that you don’t know who is responsible for all the horrible things that happen until the very end. One of the best Scandinavian Crime Novels I have read in years.

The Snow Girls by Chis Mooney

This is the 8th book in the Darby McCormick series.

You can read them all separately but it helps sometimes to understand details if you have read at least one of his novels before.

The stories of this gripping thriller evolves around a missing girl and an ice-cold killer.

Darby McCormick is again in the centre of the story.  She is a great character, a strong woman, shaped by a hard to take past. She never gives up and goes her own way to solve unsolved crimes like her current case:  Claire Flynn went missing 11 years ago...
