To assist teachers, Waimakariri Libraries have a feast of resources available to help teachers feed students who are hungry for knowledge.
The libraries provide a variety of printing and copying services.
An upgrade to the public computers at Rangiora, Kaiapoi and Oxford Libraries has been rolled out. Google Chromebooks are computers which are fast, easy to use, and designed for use with the internet. Along with replacing the computers, we also have new printers, scanners and a revamped booking system. Library staff are happy to assist while you become accustomed to the new equipment – please just ask if you need help.
Free computer services and internet access are provided via the AotearoaPeople'sNetworkKaharoa (APNK).
APNK PCs have USB ports, memory card slots and webcams. Headphones are available on request or you can use your own.
The computer booking system provides 30 minute sessions
Free Wifi access is available at all branches 24/7. The free Wifi hotspots cover the libraries and also extend to nearby car parks and seatings areas. The APNK Privacy Policy can be found here.
Before you can use the Wifi you will be asked to agree to the Terms of Service.
You can use our APNK computers at all three libraries or print off your own device (phones, tablet, laptops) by forwarding an email with the attached document to [email protected] You will receive an email back with a code, please come to the library the same day with that code to pay and retrieve your printing. Printing is only on A4 paper, in black and white costs 20c per printed side, and printing in colour costs $2.00 per printed side.
An A4 flatbed scanner is available at Rangiora, Kaiapoi and Oxford Library. Scanned documents can be transferred to your USB or sent to an email. Please ask our friendly staff if you need help, they are happy to assist you.
