We also provide all the extra tools you need to sew, like pins, fabric clips, snips, scissors, and an iron.
Tinker Zone runs using a Traffic Light system. The Sewing Suite are Yellow Tech, which means that you will need to attend an induction before having access to them. These inductions cover the basics and important safety information about the machines.
Once you're inducted in, we will stamp your Tinker Card. You can present your card to a friendly librarian and they will give you a sewing kit. These sewing kits include all the basics you need to get your project started. Just bring your own fabrics and thread!
To use the Yellow Tech, you will need a Tinker Card. This card serves as a quick guide reference confirming that you have completed an induction and have the basic knowledge needed to function and safety to operate our sewing machines.
Staff will register your name and a phone number to your new card, and show you how to book in for any inductions if you are interested.
Children should have their own card, and anyone under 16 years old must be registered by parent or guardian.
