In a hurry? Unable to make it into the library? Our librarians can choose items for you based on your preferences.
Tell us what sort of books you like, and the format you like to read in (Graphic Novels, Large Print, Short Reads) and our librarians will curate a My Book Bag for you. Pickups for My Book Bag are available at Oxford, Kaiapoi, Rangiora and the Pop-up Library. Pickup times will be advised on confirmation of your My Book Bag.
You can return your books in the after hours returns slots located on the outside of the library building.
Up to 30 items per person can be selected and a librarian will check them out to your library account for you before putting in the bags.
Items include books, magazines, DVDs, audiobooks and music CDs.
Please order a separate book bag for each member of your family.
You request your items via online form or on the phone. Bags can be made up for adults, teens, children and pre-schoolers.
You can request for specific books (depends on availability) or ask the librarian to select from a requested genre. E.g. romance, mystery, crime, picture books and more.
We will arrange with you a time to collect your bag from one of the libraries. Your bag will be clearly labelled with your name. You simply pick it up and take it away. The books will already be checked out to your account. A staff member will be available, if you do need assistance.
We offer a limited delivery service for our members who are housebound through illness and injury. For further information contact Jeanette at Rangiora Library, 0800 965 542 . If you want to find out more please have a look at our Books in Homes page.
